Overview

PSX Trader is a Chrome extension for learning stock trading with real Pakistan Stock Exchange data and virtual money. This is a paper trading tool — no real money is involved.

Data Collection

PSX Trader does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. We do not have servers — the extension runs entirely in your browser.

How Your Data Is Used

• Virtual portfolio & balance: Your trading data (virtual balance, portfolio, transaction history) is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your device.
• Stock price data: The extension fetches real-time stock prices from Yahoo Finance. Only stock ticker symbols are sent in these requests — no personal data is transmitted.
• No accounts or login: PSX Trader does not require any account creation, login, or personal information.

Third-Party Services

PSX Trader fetches stock market data from:

• Yahoo Finance API — used to retrieve real-time PSX stock prices, search results, and chart data. Subject to Yahoo's Terms of Service

Permissions

• sidePanel: Used to display the trading interface in Chrome's side panel.
• storage: Used to save your virtual portfolio, balance, watchlist, and transaction history locally in your browser.

Data Security

All data stays in your browser. No data is sent to any server owned or operated by PSX Trader. Your virtual trading data is stored using Chrome's built-in storage API, which is sandboxed to the extension.

PSX Trader is for educational purposes only. It uses real market data but virtual (fake) money. No real trading occurs. Stock prices may be delayed. This is not financial advice.
